Good morning MARY, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I bristled when I read this question because I am generally unflappable. Not knowing something doesn’t intimidate me, because I can always learn more, so it’s not intelligence.
I am the true Energizer Bunny. I seem to have a never-ending supply of usable energy. For that reason, I probably take it for granted. When I do, I rest, and my cup fills again.

Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Having, knowing, and working toward a purpose has become one of my greatest needs. I’ve found that I often can’t see the whole picture until I’ve already lived it. But learning to trust that has completely changed how I make decisions. Now, I point myself in the direction I want to go and try to stay open to whatever comes my way.

Welcome, Mary! Please tell us a bit about your book.
Can you imagine being a victim of domestic violence at the hands of your husband, only to turn your life around and become a police detective in the Domestic Violence Unit? Well, I did. One of my first cases mirrored my own violent experience, bringing me face to face with my demons—forcing me to confront them and come full circle.
